Pops Chorus

Our 40-voice Pops Chorus performs regularly for non-profit organizations at various times during the year. With a repertoire comprising popular music from Broadway shows and other familiar contemporary music, Pops gives choristers a chance to perform lighter works in more informal settings and allows the chorus to reach out and perform for people who might not typically get to attend a DCS concert.

Homes for Our Troops

In April 2008, Dedham Choral Society performed The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by contemporary Welsh composer Karl Jenkins, at Jordan Hall at the New England Conservatory, as a benefit for Homes for Our Troops. We are proud to have raised over $3,000 for this fine organization.

Community Activities

Our singers have joined in supporting a variety of community arts events, such as participating in the Boston Walk for Music and Arts and performing for the James Joyce Ramble, a fundraiser for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

The Tenors’ Club

All members are welcome to join with other singers after rehearsals to enjoy each other’s company at a local watering hole.

Concert Tours

Chorus members have the opportunity to join our music director on concert tours, both locally and internationally. Recent tours have explored the Baltics and St. Petersburg, Italy, and eastern Europe. The chorus has performed at such venues as St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, Smolny Cathedral in St. Petersburg, St. Nicholas Church in Prague, Votivkirche in Vienna, and St. Stephen’s Basilica in Budapest.
